That opens things up for Red Robin/Tim. He's the one who believes Bruce is still alive. It gives these characters room to grow. Tim becomes his own man and gets to prove that he is a great detective. Dick gets to see that it's ok to follow in 'dads' footsteps and still be true to himself. He'll get to train Damien and take a different approach than Bruce did with him. Damien..that little bastard..get taken down a few pegs and will be taugh that he's not the hot shit that he think he is. The fact that Jason has taken on so many identities (Robin, Red Robin, Batman, and Red Hood) just shows that he still has no identity and is still trying to figure out who he is. It also establishes him as a villain and not an anti-hero. He serves better as a villain (IMO).
