Alright, I know we all sweared off going to WWP, I mean the Philadelphia Comic Con next year but I think I am going to go. I have been there every day for 8 years and I don't want that part of my life to end. You have to admit the guest list for New York is not too bad and if Philly can get Ernie Hudson too that would be sweet So I was looking at Hotels and under Orbitz, the Hampton Inn came up at 130.00 a night. My question is...has anybody ever stayed there? It says it is adjacent to the Convention Center but I don't know what the hell that means. So how close is it, I can't remember seeing it.

I also wanted to throw this out there because I think it would be cool if whoever is going, we can all book in the same place. Let me know if you guys are interested. I really want to book this while prices are this low

That's a good price. The Hampton Inn is not as close as the Hilton Garden Inn or the Marriott and it's not as nice, but it's an acceptable room. Plus there's free cookies in the afternoon. So you can't go wrong with that. As far as staying there myself I am going with the Hilton Garden Inn if I go to Philly this year. I've been to them all and found that to be the best. I kind of doubt I'll be at Philly next year because I'll be saving my money for New York. But I've said that before so don't count me out just yet.

My girlfriend and I stood there. It is about a 2-3 block walk from the entrance of the con. It was a cool place to stay at. Staff was very helpful.

Although to me it is no longer a comic book convention, I mean look at the guest lists they are putting together. The majority of the guests are media people and that is not a comic book convention to me. I am going to me creators not some guy from Ghostbusters even though Ernie Hudson is cool as shit!

I will more than likely be attending just because it is really close and that seems to be when my friend (Damon) has money and can usually go. But then again not exactly knowing what my job situation is going to be, it is still a toss up. I am definitely cool with trying to stay in the same hotel. Like Goldbricker said the Hilton Garden is really nice and it is about the same price and right across the street from the con (you saw how close it was Adam, remember).

I won't be able to pay for my room till later so I will be waiting but whatever you guys decide I will definitely try that hotel out. I think Stupidfaceman uses the Hampton as well.

Adam, google hampton inn in philadelphia I was getting a rate of 109.95 a night if you prepay on Hampton Inn's page.

Josh, how did you get the Hilton at that price? I tried looking for that and all that kept coming up was over 200.00 a night and that would be killer since we go for 3 nights

I stay at the Hampton inn cause i need a suite when i go cause that how me and mine roll. as for being close it on the the back side left corner of the convention center and takes about 4 min to walk to the doors at the most. I like the place and if i go thats where we will stay again. i may just reserve a room there and if i dont end up goin i will cancel it.

hmmm... they must of changed it since last year because I know that is what we paid because my buddy split it with me and gave me 100 bucks for his half and we stayed for two nights.

I didn't care bout the taxes and all. Looks like I may be looking into the hampton as well. SFM is it one of those places where you can reserve a room with no money down and cancel it if you want later? Adam, whats wrong with the Marriott?

Ya I'll more than likely go if Josh decides to. It's a kind of beginning of summer thing for me to travel, hang out with a friend, and kick back. I'll more than likely have a new costume by then. I know that if so that we all have to go out again even on saturday night *wink**wink*. Who knows by then we might be looking for the disney booth instead of Marvel.

It makes me wonder now with Disney in charge, will Marvel have a bigger presences at shows because Disney can take care of the traveling expenses.

Also from what I understand Joe Q. will not be doing as much with the movies and animation because Disney has their own people to take care of that. This frees up Q to concentrate on the publishing side more

Alright I am booked for now at 129.00 a night for two nights at the Hampton Inn

If anything comes up and I can't go or decide not to I can cancel up until 6pm the day of the reservation so that is cool. Now all you others book your shit!!!

This took me directly to the one in Philly:

http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml;jsessionid=3QEWDEOP5FZ4QCSGBJBN2EQ?ctyhocn=PHLCVHX

You can either book it so you pay now and get it at 109 or pay for it when you check in and it is 129 a night. But it will cut out that middle man for you Adam if you don't want to use one of those other sites.

Actually I am not booking right now because I want to pay in full and they do not gurantee a refund if the reservation is canceled. So I would be screwed if WW kills the Philly show. I have to wait until they are 100% sure.

I don't know Rath, can you ask Spat if it is 100% a go so we can book our rooms and not get screwed?

IM is right. Spat will stick with the company line. They canceled WWLA when it was only weeks away. I think the show will still be there but I'm not sure of the quality of the show.

Big Apple has a good line up so far.

Looks like Big Apple Con ran into some trouble. They lost Mr. Fantastic, Gambit, Silver Fox and the T-1000. Now Spat says look for them at the other shows and he did say Philly in there first. My wife will be thrilled if Philly gets Robert Patrick, not for T2 but because she is a X-Files fan.

On a side note, Wizard really needs to get on the ball with booking quality comic guests. Big Apple Con has 3, maybe 5 good creators and that is piss poor.

As a sketch collector there are some guys I'm looking forward to seeing at Big Apple. I won't be getting a VIP pass for this but I'll be going.

Guests have been announced for the show. Of course they are media guests and not one comic creator was named among them. Big surprise
