JJ Abrams Star Trek

Umm... Spidey I know you said you were going to see this at 7, why haven't you posted a review yet?

What I would like to say before everything is. I don't remember the movies or the original series. I remember watching some of Star Trek: TNG with my dad and uncle and some of the newer movies. But I will say I don't know the mythos of the series like say I know the Punisher. I know the basics of characters names and what they were somewhat like. That being said.... I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!

I realize it isn't your Daddy's Star Trek, but to me it is mine. I think the characters were casted wonderfully and there was no acting problems what so ever. Nimoy was a gem as was all the new actors playing their characters. Simon Peg was hilarious. I watched something on G4 earlier today and the guy commented saying it was Star Trek 90210... well if 90210 was ever like this movie I would of been glued to the TV every week.

The one thing I remember about the old movies was the Klingons grew old and any movie that had the Borg in it was a good Star Trek movie, while the rest pretty much stunk. This one having no mention of the Borg of course cause we don't run into them fully till Pacard (see I know some stuff) had the Romalons (sp?) as the villians and I thought Eric Bana was amazing as Captain Nero.

Well I suppose I will leave it at that, don't want to give away too much for those who plan to see it. But if you are hurry and go so we can discuss!

Not a big Trek fan but I am interested in seeing this movie. I will be checking this out.

Sorry too tired last night to go on the internet but I fucking loved it. In face I am going to see it again in about an hour (7:30 Friday)

Great movie. Best one I've seen since Dark Knight. If you're not a fan of Star Trek, or know somebody that isn't a fan of Star Trek, don't worry. Go see this movie it's accessible and you'll love it. You don't need to know the minutiae of the decades of Star Trek lore because it's all been reset. I bet that might piss off some hardcore fans, but it is really setting itself up to be a great movie franchise.

I saw this movie on opening day at 11 AM. Thanks unemployment! Truly a great movie. Lots of fun, hilarious (coulda used more Scotty though), great action. It's like Star Trek finally gave the mass American audience exactly what they've always wanted. I think the general population, me included, want to like Star Trek and enjoy the characters but are put off by the slow-moving and intellectual stories. We want sex and action! And this movie brings it, with just enough philosophical quandaries to make it a very well thought out action movie.

I'll start by saying that I'm not a fan of any of the Star Trek or the movies. That's not to say that they suck, I just never been into them. That being said I saw the movie today and it kicked ass. They did a great job of casting the movie. A lot of good action and build up. The only issue I had was that they brought in Simon Peg's character in so late in the movie. Really good movie and I'm looking forward to the next one.

By the way....What the hell was Medea doing in Star Trek?
