| I'm thinking Dove might have died contently and thus does not want to come back. This is coming from a guy that knows next to nothing about his story, though. | |

| After further research, I have a little info to back up my many many theories on this event... that I will share with you know.
1) The black lanterns are seeking out the light to destroy it. They've shown several pannels in the issues so far where living characters are highlighted in one of the emotional lights. It looks like the black lanterns are specificly targeting those individuals, to stomp out the light. In BN#1, the guardians were not killed, but imprisoned. They don't have any emotional light to take:
"You abandoned emotion eons ago. Your hearts are useless. Empty. The darkness cannot feast on your hearts. They need to hunt full ones."
2) Touching back on the Don Hall issue (I did a little research...):
Don died during crisis on infinate earths saving a child from the anti-monitor's shadow demons. Being a pasifist combined with a noble death might be why the black ring can't take him. We'll have to wait and see if any others will refuse the ring before I'll say for sure if thats the reason. | |
