| I did Wonder-con again this year for work but could only make Sunday, my least favorite day. It was on Easter too, which wasn't really an issue for me but I think it had an effect on the show since it was the most dead I've ever seen it. I was expecting the usual shoving crowds and long lines but there was nothing I had to wait more than say, 10 minutes for including getting in and meeting Greg Rucka. The only exception was trying out the new/upcoming Capcom games- freaking awesome by the way- but then that's always a crowded booth. It was just so-so for me this year. It's usually pretty fun and it's gotten a lot bigger in recent years. Still on the small-ish side I'd say but then that has its perks too. Comic-con 2010 as usual will be much bigger and more insane. I still think Wonder-con is definitely worth going to; just make sure you hit Friday and Saturday. | |

| Thank you- it's a pleasure to be here I think we have some pretty good shows out here, but then it's not like I have any events in other areas to really compare to I'd still say come check it out. Stay for a week and do the touristy thing for a few days before or after if you haven't been to Cali and I'll help you out with the securing room & board aspect. I'd love to do the Texas Wizard convention, Comic-con in New York, the Salute to Supernatural Convention, or some of the Horror cons/film festivals too. Someday I think it would be fun to dress up and go too, but right now I'm much too selfish. | |

| Good to know that I won't stand out with my strong opinions, though anyone who claims shocked indignation should know that I chose this moniker as a warning and not because I have anything against Magneto's kids. What I actually meant was that I'm far too selfish to dress up while in attendance at a convention, even though part of me really wants to. But while I'm there I have an agenda- especially if I'm covering the show for work- and no time to talk about or pose for pictures of my clothing. I love when people dress up and I have no problem asking for a picture of them because I just sorta assume that it comes with the territory. I just know that I'd get cranky at people and I think that's a douchey thing to do. *shrug* I think Wonder-con is nice for a vacation and convention combo because the Moscone center is in a good place downtown and it takes place during a non-touristy time of year. Sure it's possible that it'll be cold and rainy like it was this year but the con was very late this time around and usually the weather is nice. Comic-con is right in the middle of summer so downtown San Diego is packed even before the convention goers get there. The weather is hot and humid (if you're a nor-cal wuss like I am) and all the attractions near the center are going to be crowded. But then it's possible that Comic-con will go through with the move that's being discussed and we all may end up in LA for 2011- something I am not thrilled about even if it does save me some money on gas Which reminds me- is anyone else concerned about that or following what's happening with it? The whole Comic-con Los Angeles thing I mean? | |

| I am not sure what type of numbers it is pulling but if the numbers justify the move then I don't see why they shouldn't just go ahead and do it. I thought I read somewhere that they were going to do like an e3 type thing. Move to LA for a couple of years while San Diego builds a new convention center and then move back.
Also wouldn't it be easier for Hollywood to get to LA than San Diego? What SDCC is mainly all about... | |
